Hijama therapy is a minor surgical procedure that is also known as Wet Cupping, it’s a therapy used to remove harmful toxins from your body in order to improve the blood circulation in the body. Moreover, it is a widely practised by Muslims as it is a Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Hence, cupping therapy is also known as a Prophetic Medicine, which has been prescribed to the nation as a means of treatment and cure.
The treatment involves a negative pressure or suction being applied by a cup in order to create a vacuum to draw the toxins to the surface of the skin, then applying small, superficial scratches i.e. making small incisions to excrete the toxins out of the body.
Hijama cupping therapy removes blood and tissue fluids mixed with potentially harmful substances.
Therapeutic benefits of Hijama cupping is not related to the amount of blood drawn out but to the number of excreted toxins.

It is a safe procedure that does not take very long, anywhere from 30mins to 1 hour. Depending on how many cups applied.
There is no known major side effects as long as you go to a qualified practitioner but you will get some bruising and it may feel a little sore and itchy.
This will go in a day or few days.
The superficial scratches usually fade within 3 weeks and does not usually result in scarring if the appropriate after care advice has been adhered to. However, a very small percentage of individuals may incur scarring due to their skin type or failure to follow the after care advice. Certain areas of the body are more sensitive than others, so there maybe minimal discomfort due to the application of scratches to the patient’s skin surface.
It definitely does not feel as bad as it looks, most people describe it as light scratches, some say its therapeutic/relaxing and others find it hysterical.
